Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hardware & Network Engineer with RF expertise (CRE preferred) to support end-to-end infrastructure and RFID deployments across jewellery retail showrooms and warehouses.
This role is critical to ensuring seamless billing operations, accurate RFID-based inventory tracking (gold/diamond), and reliable network performance integrated with ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Jewellery Store Infrastructure Deployment

  • Execute end-to-end IT infrastructure setup for jewellery showrooms, including POS systems, billing counters, barcode/RFID devices, and back-office systems.
  • Validate store readiness checklist before ERP go-live (network, hardware, RFID, billing flow).
  • Ensure proper functioning of weighing scale integrations, barcode printers, scanners, and billing systems.
  • Maintain documentation of store layouts, device mapping, and connectivity diagrams.

2. Network Configuration & Multi-Store Connectivity

  • Configure and manage LAN/WAN networks across multiple showroom locations and head office.
  • Implement VLAN segmentation (billing, RFID, admin, guest networks).
  • Plan and maintain structured IP addressing schemes for scalability.
  • Ensure high availability and low latency for real-time ERP transactions (billing, stock updates, gold rate sync).
  • Troubleshoot issues impacting live billing or ERP performance.

3. RF Engineering & Wireless Optimization (Retail Focus)

  • Conduct RF site surveys in showroom environments with glass counters, metal interference (gold displays), and dense layouts.
  • Optimize Wi-Fi coverage (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) for uninterrupted POS and handheld device usage.
  • Identify and mitigate RF interference caused by metal fixtures, lighting, and electronic devices.
  • Ensure stable wireless connectivity for RFID readers, handhelds, and POS systems.

4. RFID Infrastructure Deployment (Jewellery Use Case)

  • Deploy and configure RFID readers, antennas, handheld scanners, and tagging systems for jewellery items.
  • Ensure high read accuracy for tagged items (gold, diamond, silver) across display and vault areas.
  • Troubleshoot issues like missed reads, cross-reads, and antenna calibration errors.
  • Support RFID-based stock audits, cycle counts, and real-time inventory tracking.
  • Ensure seamless integration with ERP for stock synchronization.

5. Security & Connectivity

  • Assist in configuring firewalls and VPN connectivity for secure communication between stores and head office.
  • Ensure secure handling of billing data and financial transactions.
  • Support implementation of basic network security and access controls.

6. ERP & Implementation Support

  • Work closely with ERP implementation teams during store go-live and rollout phases.
  • Ensure smooth integration between hardware, network, RFID, and ERP systems.
  • Provide immediate support for issues affecting billing, stock, or customer transactions.

7. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network diagrams, RF layouts, RFID setups, and configurations.
  • Follow standardized deployment checklists and SOPs for jewellery retail environments.
  • Maintain logs for issues, resolutions, and infrastructure changes.

Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • Zero infrastructure or RFID failures during store go-live
  • 99%+ uptime for billing, RFID, and ERP systems
  • High RFID read accuracy (near 100%) during audits
  • Minimal network-related disruptions impacting sales
  • Complete and accurate documentation for all store deployments
